Bedale North Yorkshire, Gateway to the Dales
Bedale is one of North Yorkshire's smaller market towns but has one of the largest and finest churches in the North Riding.
Just 2 miles from the A1M at Leeming Bar jnc 51, Bedale is the entrance to Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales in general, "The gateway to The Dales".
The wide cobbled market place hosts a weekly market on Tuesday.
The 12th century church of St Gregory is said to be one of the finest in the North Riding.
